Statement of Intent – Website I am planning to create a website with strong synergy to my music video. I am doing so by having an image of my singer, while filming the performative section of the video, very large taking up most of the front page. This idea of having a large image taking up the front page was inspired by Melanie Martinez’s website which opens up with an image of the school on her album cover and film. I believe that this will add both personality and professionality to my website, appealing to audiences. I have also used the colour scheme of my video throughout the site to make sure the media products link and that the bright colours attract audiences. This allows for my website and video to link seamlessly. I have used the music video as the first single of an album and I have used an image taken when filming as the album cover to show this. For my pop music video, I am using the song 'Lonely Hearts Club' by MARINA. I want to portray the happiness and love of the song and genre through a romance based music video as well as the 13-26 year old female demographic of pop music. I want the music video to fully showcase the artist and song to advertise the music.  My artist is in both the performative and narrative element of the music video as this is common in pop music videos. This showcases the artist fully to her audience as well as demonstrate the artistic talent and energy that cannot be conveyed otherwise through just the recording. The narrative concept of my video will be a girl and boy gradually drifting apart in their relationship. They are not as close and they show no physical affection. Eventually they end their relationship because the girl does not have feelings for him. Story Plan Section 1: It begins with a boy and girl watching a film together on a sofa but they’re a metre apart. The audience is shown that they are watching Legally Blonde. They get into bed and once again lie far apart and it is clear they are uncomfortable around each other. The next day they sit in the kitchen drinking tea and there is speech at the bottom of their break up. It begins to look like a comic with the text and makeup. The lyric ‘ I go to bed feeling bad that I’m the reason that you’re s ad ’ is lip-synced as part of the break up Section 2: The girl, now single, begins a transformation into the look of Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. She is now wearing all pink. She looks happier and does her makeup to look bold and comic book like. The lyrics ‘Love will never be forever, feelings are just like the weather.
