  • The track I have chosen is Lonely Hearts Club by MARINA
  • MARINA is a welsh singer-songwriter known for her pop music. She came to prominence placing second in the BBC's sound of 2010.Her debut album 'The Family Jewels' entered the UK albums chart at number 5.
  • The track 'Lonely Hearts Club' is from her follow up album Electra Heart. the album placed first in UK charts with the single 'Primadonna' taking number 12 on the UK Singles chart.
  •  The track ‘Lonely Hearts Club’ is part of the Deluxe Bonus edition on the album along with three other songs and was the title for her tour ‘The Lonely Hearts Club Tour’
  • MARINA is played very often on BBC Radio 1 and has even performed in the Radio 1 Live Lounge. Therefore the song I have chosen fits the specification as a song that would be played on Radio 1

Statement of Intent - Music Video

For my pop music video, I am using the song 'Lonely Hearts Club' by MARINA. I want to portray the happiness and love of the song and genre through a romance based music video as well as the 13-26 year old female demographic of pop music. I want the music video to fully showcase the artist and song to advertise the music.  My artist is in both the performative and narrative element of the music video as this is common in pop music videos. This showcases the artist fully to her audience as well as demonstrate the artistic talent and energy that cannot be conveyed otherwise through just the recording. The narrative concept of my video will be a girl and boy gradually drifting apart in their relationship. They are not as close and they show no physical affection. Eventually they end their relationship because the girl does not have feelings for him.
